Kyrgyzstan Photography Expedition

Discover the wild beauty of Kyrgyzstan on an extraordinary photography adventure through the dramatic landscapes of the Tien Shan Mountains. From towering snowcapped peaks and turquoise alpine rivers to sweeping valleys, colorful canyons, and remote glacial wilderness, this journey takes us far beyond the usual tourist routes.

We’ll explore spectacular locations, venturing deeper into the mountains to seek opportunities to photograph fascinating native wildlife, including Golden Eagles, Siberian ibex, wild mountain sheep, marmots, bearded vultures, Himalayan griffon vultures, and other native birds of prey. We’ll  create stunning landscape photographs, capture time-lapse sequences of changing light and clouds sweeping across mountain peaks, and photograph the Milky Way and star-filled skies above remote mountain landscapes.

We’ve chosen a particularly exciting time of year to visit to coincide with the autumn transhumance - the centuries-old tradition of herders moving their horses, sheep, and other livestock from high summer pastures down into the valleys…
