Alaskan Wilderness Workshop

Photography Workshop with Kristi Odom and Tamara Lackey

July 25th- July 31st, 2025

Alaska

This adventure photography workshop with Nikon Ambassadors Kristi Odom and Tamara Lackey is focused on hiking through the pristine remote Alaskan wilderness to photograph and film the plentiful grizzly bears we will find in a variety of some of those most astonishingly beautiful natural settings on the planet. Located in the wildest part of Alaska on the North shore of Lake IIiamna, her largest lake, we will be surrounded by 18 million acres of roadless wilderness, accessible only by bush and float planes.

This photography workshop will be based out of a lodge that is nestled between the pristine and wild Bristol Bay and both Katmai and Lake Clark National Parks and Preserves in Alaska. Every day will be its own adventure! With our own dedicated guides and our own private float planes, bush planes and boats, we will follow the guidance of experts to experience the best opportunities to get close to Grizzly Bears and Alaskan wildlife. Along the way we will embark on daily treks, with the possibility of hiking a few miles a day as we discover wild bears caring for their brand new cubs, clamming for food, grabbing their salmon from the waterfalls, playing in the fields and meandering past stunning glaciers.

Kristi and Tamara have taught several photography workshops together, including these Alaskan adventures, and they love to incorporate a combination of open adventure, photography instruction and incredible enthusiasm for the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness.
