Tamara Lackey is a renowned professional photographer, Nikon USA Ambassador, non-profit executive director and show host. She has photographed a series of commercial and marketing campaigns for Nikon and was selected to present her work on stage as part of the Nikon Global Launch Event in Tokyo, helping to introduce a new line of ground-breaking mirrorless camera systems.
Tamara is the Executive Director of Beautiful Together, a 501(c)(3) non-profit she co-founded in 2014 that is focused on a mission she cares about deeply: connecting animals in need of refuge with children living in underserved communities. She is fortunate to work alongside an accomplished team as the Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary is being built out across 83 acres of property in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Beautiful Together also continues their original project work in Ethiopia, as well.
Tamara speaks at a range of programs, seminars and conventions on the power of photography to have impact and to create real change, presenting at Google, Disney, CES, Photo Plus Expo, Harvard Law School and more. She also leads photography adventure workshops around the world and is the author of nine books, several of which have been translated into multiple languages. Her Capturing Life Through (Better) Photography™ won the Booklist Editors’ Choice Award in Media and her latest publication is The Posing Playbook.
Tamara has co-produced and hosted multiple live broadcasts for creativeLIVE and other livecast media and hosted her popular web series, The reDefine Show, for seven years. Her newest TV show, The Chasing Frames Show with Tamara Lackey focuses on capturing experiences and adventures through photography and is broadcast on PBS North Carolina and PBS.org
In addition to being a Nikon Ambassador, Tamara also has the distinction of being recognized as a Legend of Light by Profoto, an ON1 Guru and is also part of the Think Tank Pro Team.
Tamara and her husband are the co-owners of Coco Bistro & Bar, a popular plant-based eatery in Chapel Hill, North Carolina focused on sustainability. They, their children and their active cadre of pets live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
